Kyle Katarn was a Force-sensitive warrior who formerly worked for the Galactic Empire, but deserted and joined the Rebel Alliance, turning towards the ways of the Force and the Jedi. At one point, Kyle and his ally Jan Ors, on the ship Raven's Claw, flew to Basteel where they tried to assassinate the Emperor. He turned out only to be a body double, and Kyle suffered lightsaber and blaster wounds from Mara Jade.
